Hello! I’m Kim. I write stories and draw pictures and…make picture books!

I’ve been writing stories and drawing pictures since I was small. I studied Drama at Exeter University and then worked as a music journalist for nearly ten years, writing for places like the NME and the BBC.

I now make picture books and am currently published by Ladybird Books at Penguin Random House. Find out more here

My debut picture book Mabel and the Mountain won the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Prize and my third book Gretel the Wonder Mammoth won Best Illustrated Book at the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2023. My fourth picture book, Flora & Nora Hunt for Treasure is published in June 2023.

I run workshops in schools and libraries and galleries and, well, anywhere really… I love meeting young people and finding ways to be more creative 🙂
